Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)disconnect water and power connections to illegal Campa Cola flats Monday June 23,2014

After three days of struggle, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials on Monday June 23,2014 entered the Campa Cola compound in Worli, Mumbai, to disconnect water and power connections to some of the illegal flats.
The BMC team was accompanied by workers from the electricity board, Mahanagar gas, and the water supply department.

The BMC's passage into the housing society with seven buildings was without any fanfare as the gate, which was closed to bar the entry of civic staff, was thrown open.
12 teams were deployed to disconnect the utility services of 102 illegal flats. The first 5 floors in the 7 buildings are legal.

Civic officials said that care was taken not to cause inconvenience to other flat owners.

Also civic officials have only disconnected the utility services to ensure that the illegal flats are not livable in.
