MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
  • Cameroon lost their first three matches against Brazil without scoring a goal, but they won the fourth - and most recent - meeting in the 2003 Confederations Cup with a Samuel Eto'o goal. Cameroon are the only African side to have beaten Brazil in a senior international match.
  • Brazil won 3-0 when they met at the 1994 World Cup.
Cameroon
  • Cameroon have lost their last six World Cup matches - the longest ever losing streak by an African country. They have only won one of their last 15 games in the tournament (D4, L10).
  • This is the fifth successive time they have been eliminated in the group stage, and sixth occasion in seven World Cups overall.
  • The Indomitable Lions have gone 13 consecutive World Cup matches without scoring more than one goal since a 2-2 draw with Sweden in 1994. The only longer such streak in World Cup history is 18 by Uruguay, set between 1970 and 2002.
  • Cameroon failed to score in their first two group games - they have never been knocked out of a World Cup without managing a single goal.
  • Samuel Eto'o has scored Cameroon's last three World Cup goals.
Brazil
  • This is Brazil's 100th World Cup match. They are the second team to reach the milestone - Germany did so in their opening match at this World Cup.
  • The goalless draw with Mexico last Tuesday ended a 10-match winning streak for Brazil.
  • They have not failed to score in successive World Cup matches for 40 years since losing 2-0 against the Netherlands and 1-0 against Poland in 1974.
  • Their only defeat in the last 23 games came against Switzerland last August (W17, D5, L1).
  • Brazil are now unbeaten in 39 successive matches on home soil, with their last defeat coming against Paraguay in August 2002.
  • They have lost only one of their 35 World Cup matches in the group stage since 1970 (W27, D7).
