Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 10-point Agenda


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got his ministers working and has issued them guidelines and priorities. Modi, who addressed his second Cabinet meet on Thursday May 29,2014, has listed down a 10-point priority list for his government

Following are the 10 priorities that Narendra Modi has listed for his Govt
1. Build up confidence in bureaucracy so they do not fear to face the consequences.
2. Innovative ideas welcome and babus will be given freedom to work.
3. Education, health, water, energy and roads will be priority.
4. Transparency will be in government. E-auction will be promoted in tendering and other government work.
5. A system will be placed for inter-ministerial issues to ensure better inter-ministerial co-ordination.
6. A people-oriented system will be in place and government machinery will be geared up to fulfil the mandate.
7. Addressing concerns relating to economy.
8. Infrastructural and investment reforms.
9. Implementation of policies in a time-bound manner.
10. Stability and sustainability in government policy

Armed with a 10-point programme and a 100-day schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday instructed his Council of Ministers to get cracking and inject confidence into the economy. 

As most of the ministers were still settling down in their new roles and seeking extensive briefings from officials, Modi sought a definite delivery road map from his colleagues.
He issued 10 broad commandments for his government with a focus on giving a free hand to bureaucrats and welcoming innovative ideas
His government's priorities will be transparency in governance through e-auction. The specific areas of stress will be education, health, water, energy and roads.
Modi gave an assurance that the government would provide a people-oriented policy, infrastructure development, inter-ministerial harmony, remove economic concerns, and provide stability and sustainability in policies.
Deadline set
He set a 100-day deadline for Cabinet ministers to deliver on the immediate agenda.
"The PM has given guidelines to all ministers to have their own timetable on priorities in each ministry for the first 100 days," tweeted Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation.

Narendra Modi will communicate directly with people to explain his 10 priorities through an address to the nation, expected after a brief Parliament session from June 4 to 11.

The government's vision will also be reflected in President Pranab Mukherjee's address to the joint session of Parliament
