AirAsia India



AirAsia India is an Indo-Malayan low cost carrier which is a joint venture of Air Asia, Asia's largest low-fare, no-frills airline.


AirAsia offers the lowest fares online to over 85 destinations across Asia with numerous frequencies a day
 



Announced on 19 February 2013, the airline would be operated as a joint venture between  Tata Sons and AirAsia, with AirAsia holding 49% of the airline, Tata Sons holding 30% and Amit Bhatia taking up the remaining 21% in the airline.



The joint venture would also mark Tata's return to aviation industry after 60 years.


As of May 07,2014, DGCA granted Air Operator's Permit(AOP) to AirAsia India.

AirAsia is the first foreign airline to set up a subsidiary in India.




The airliner will operate with the world's lowest unit cost of 1.25 (2.1¢ US)/available seat kilometer and a passenger break-even load factor of 52%
