William, Kate and Baby Prince George Arrive in Australia for 10- day Tour Wednesday April 16,2014



The Cambridges landed at Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport after flying from New Zealand on Wednesday April 16,2014   




Duke and Duchess to make first official appearance in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House


Royals will tour Australia for 10 days

Thousands cheered and looked on as the Royals made their way along the foreshore

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, William managed to strike fear into onlookers by standing dangerously close to the edge of a dramatic 100-metre cliff face. The Duke boldly stood just 18 inches from the edge of Narrow Neck Lookout, a stunning viewpoint in the mountains which were devastated by bushfires six months ago.



The Royal had attended an Easter Sunday service at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Sydney on April 20,2014 when he was presented with the priceless First Fleet Bible and Book of Common Prayer.

The Bible was used in the first Christian service ever held in Australia  - in 1788 by the Chaplain of the First Fleet, Reverend Richard Johnson.

Over the last 100 years it has been signed by several members of the Royal Family, including the Queen in 1954.
William’s parents, the then Prince and Princess of Wales, added their names in 1983, the Duke and Duchess of York in 1988 and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1958.

William and Kate signed their names in the Bible on the same page as Charles and Diana


The Royal later visited the Taronga Zoo to view a Bilby called George after the baby Prince

Royal couple receive traditional Aboriginal welcome as they arrive at Uluru

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today Tuesday April 22,2014 took part in an Aborigine Welcome to Country ceremony at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. 

Around 150 people in the remote town pressed up against the fence of Yulara Airport to get a look at the couple as they arrived
  Kate shook hands with traditional owner Daisy Walkabout who greeted William's parents Prince Charles and Diana on their trip to Uluru in 1983

Kate spoke with a group of elderly Anangu women before moving to the fireside

After meeting elders from the Anangu people of Uluru, they gathered around a camp fire to watch the Inma ritual which incorporates traditional clapping sticks.

The ritual was the way the Anangu people formally acknowledged the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's arrival to their land.

Kate and William watched intently as dancers smeared with white paint performed in a ceremonial circle
.   

Duke and Duchess presented with gifts  in Uluru in the Central Australian Desert on Tuesday April 22,2014 from the academy including a hand-painted bracelet and traditional hunting spear

The Royal couple and baby were flying to Sydney on board an Australian Royal Air Force jet before they were due to fly on to Britain.
