Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's Controversial rape speech in Moradabad Thursday April 10,2014


At the rally, Mulayam Singh Yadav questioned the need for death penalty for rapists
"Rape cases mein faansi di jayegi? Ye ladke hain, galtiyan ho jati hai (Will the rapists be hanged now? Boys are boys. They will make mistakes),"

The Election Commission of India(ECI) has asked for the CD of Mulayam Singh Yadav's speech in Moradabad. We will be examining the contents of the speech before taking any action," UP Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said.

The National Commission for Women(NCW) has also said it will send a notice to the SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav

BJP leader Smriti Irani said -
"I would like to tell Mulayam Singh that I condemn this statement and I will not allow something like this to happen in this country,"

SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav , however, defended himself. "I am not saying anything wrong. Those who forcibly rape, they should get punishment. Innocent should not be punished, there should be no capital punishment. There is debate in the entire world about capital punishment,"
