Lionel Messi surpasses Paulino Alcántara and becomes FC Barcelona all-time top scorer

Lionel Messi set another scoring record by netting a hat-trick to pace FC  Barcelona's 7-0 rout of Osasuna in the Spanish league  2013-14 La Liga on Sunday March 16,2014

It was Lionel Messi's 20th career hat trick for Barcelona, to go with four four-goal games and one five-goal outing
Messi's 25 hat-tricks (3+ goals): - 18 in La Liga - 2 in Copa del Rey - 4 in Champions League - 1 in Spanish Super Cup

The 3 goals bring Lionel Messi's career tally for Barcelona to 371 in all games - including friendlies - breaking the club record of 369 held by Paulino Alcantara since 1927.

Lionel Messi was already the FC Barcelona's all-time leading scorer in official games.

Lionel Messi smashed the longstanding record of 369 goals for FC Barcelona that Paulino Alcántara held for 80 years.

Barça’s Filipino legend played for the Club from 1912 to 1927, with a hiatus of two seasons in that time, and he scored a total of 142 goals in official matches and 227 goals in friendlies.

With his hat-trick against Osasuna at the Camp Nou, Lionel Messi took his goal tally for Barça to 371 and thus broke Paulino’s 369-goal record.

The Argentinian, however, has scored 344 goals in official matches and 27 in friendlies.
