JD(U)Sponsored 'Bihar Bandh' Sunday March 02,2014

The JD(U)-sponsored ‘Bihar bandh’ on Sunday March 02,2014 began on a peaceful note, protesting against the Centre’s “discriminatory”  attitude towards the state and ignoring its demand for special status.

JD(U) workers took to streets in the state capital and other parts of the state where they enforced shutdown of markets and business establishments and blocked traffic in support of their demand for grant of special status to Bihar.

The Chief Minister  Nitish Kumar accompanied by hundreds of party leaders, ministers and workers, took out a march towards the Gandhi Maidan for a sit-in in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust there.


Accompanied by his ministers and senior JD(U) leaders,Bihar CM Nitish Kumar took out a march from his official residence at 1, Anne Marg to the Gandhi Maidan and sat on dharna on a platform in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust.

After undertaking five-hour sit-in,Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that he was sitting on ‘Satyagraha’ with an unflinching pledge that he and the people of Bihar will succeed in their resolve to get special status for the state
