2014 ICC World T20 Mirpur,Bangladesh India Vs West Indies Sunday March 23,2014


The 2014 ICC World Twenty20 will be the 5th ICC World Twenty20 Competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that is scheduled to take place in Banglades from March 16- April 06,2014


It will be second and consecutive time that an Asian country will host this event, as Sri Lanka hosted the preivous tournament in 2012

2012: West Indies Beats Sri Lanka by 36 Runs 
2010:England Beats Australia by 7 Wickets 
2009:Pakistan Beats Sri Lanka by 8 Wickets 
2007:India Beats Pakistan by 5 Runs


India won the inaugural edition in 2007, followed by Pakistan (2009), England (2010) and West Indies (2012).


Logo

On April 06,2013,ICC unveiled the logo of the tournament at a gala event in  Dhaka,Bangladesh

The overall look of the logo design is primarily inspired by the unique Bangladesh tuktuk decoration art style

The logo uses the colours of the Bangladesh Flag with splashes of blue representing the country's rivers (also as being the ICC's own colour)

The logo is also inspired by the Rickshaws, the The T is made up of Cricket Stumps and the '0' in the T20 represents the Cricket Ball complete with a green seam

For the first time the tournament will have 16 teams including all 10 Full Members and6 Associate Members
The top eight (full member) teams in the ICC T20 International Championship Rankings on Oct 08, 2012 enter the Super 10 Stage

2014 ICC World T20  Mirpur,Bangladesh India Vs West Indies Sunday March 23,2014

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both scored half centuries as India claimed a 7-wicket win over West Indies in the World Twenty20 with two balls remaining.
 Rohit Sharma(50) and Virat Kohli(54) scored 106 Runs for the 2nd wicket - India's highest for any wicket against West Indies in T20Is, surpassing the 71 for the 5th wicket between Subramaniam Badrinath and Rohit Sharma at Port of Spain on June 4, 2011.

The 106-run stand is India's highest for the second wicket in T20Is - their second highest for any wicket, next only to the 136 for the first wicket between Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag against England at Durban on September 19, 2007.

West Indies lost the toss and were put into bat by India in the day/night match at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur and could only reach 129/7 from their allotted 20 overs
Chris Gayle top scored for West Indies with 34 runs from 33 balls
Bhuvneshwar Kumar  bowled a superb initial spell of 3-0-3-0
MOM,Amit Mishra continued his good work, he conceded only two off the penultimate over and finished with2/18(4 Overs)
In the last over of the innings,Ravindra Jadeja was smashed for three sixes. But he also claimed two wickets in it while conceding 21 runs and finished with the figures of 3/48 (4 Overs) As a result, WI ended up with 129 on the board.

Virat  has recorded his third fifty at the World Twenty20 - his fifth in T20Is.

India have won 14 and lost eight out of 24 played at the World Twenty20 - winning per cent 63.04 (tied one and NR 1)

India have won their first World T20 game in three outings against the West Indies.  They had lost the first two -  by 7 wickets at Lord's on June 12, 2009 and by 14 runs at Bridgetown on May 9, 2010.

India's triumph by seven wickets is their biggest against the West Indies in four games in T20Is - their only previous win was by 16 runs at Port of Spain on June 4, 2011.
