2013-14 La Liga El Clasico Real Madrid Vs FC Barcelona Sunday March 23,2014

The first half ended 2-2 and contained some of the finest football of the season in open play. The first half delivered that, a fiesta of football that finished 2-2 but could have been 6-4 to Real Madrid.
10 goalscoring opportunities in 45 minutes, 4 converted, 5 cheaply missed, another quite brilliantly cleared off the line

The game saw 3 penalties(1 to Real Madrid and 2 to FCB) a red card for Sergie Ramos(Real Madrid)

FC Barcelona’s spot kicks were deserved.

But Real Madrid’s came as a result of a mistake by referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco.
It was a foul by Dani Alves on Cristiano Ronaldo in the 54th minute, but it was outside the area. Ronaldo fell inside and Mallenco was convinced.
Ronaldo took the kick himself and could not have positioned his shot better. Madrid then led 3-2.

The match concluded 4-3 to visiting FC Barcelona and the final 3 goals were penalties.

Goal Scorers
For FC Barcelona -Andre Iniesta(07),Lionel Messi(42,65th minute penalty and 84th minute penalty)

Lionel Messi climbed to No. 2 on the Spanish league's all-time scoring list with 235 goals, passing Hugo Sanchez. He also became the leading scorer in "clasico" matches with 21 goals, bettering the mark of 18 he shared with Madrid great Alfredo di Stefano.

For Real Madrid -Karim Benzema(20&24)and Cristiano Ronaldo(55th minute penalty)

Cristiano Ronaldo blamed FC Barcelona’s thrilling 4-3 win over Real Madrid last night on the incompetence of match official Alberto Undiano.

The Real Madrid forward said: 'The referee made a lot of mistakes. We needed to have a referee who was up to the level of the match. He looked very pale and nervous. I don’t want to justify the result but he was poor.'
