Alice Herz-Sommer,Oldest Holocaust Survivor Dies at 110 Sunday Feb 23,2014



Alice Herz-Sommer,the oldest known survivor of the Holocaust died on Sunday Feb 23,2014 in London, at the age of 110

Alice Herz-Sommer, who was originally from Prague, had been in the Nazi concentration camp in Terezin, or Theresienstadt, in what is now the Czech Republic, during World War II

Alice Herz-Sommer's devotion to the piano and to her son sustained her through two years in a Nazi prison camp.

Alice Herz-Sommer,a talented musician, a film about her life has been nominated for an Academy Award in the documentary short category at this year’s ceremony
Herz-Sommer recently appeared in an Oscar-nominated documentary “The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life,” is nominated for best short documentary at the Academy Awards.
