T.K. Rangarajan has been renominated as CPI(M) candidate for the Rajya
Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu, State secretary G. Ramakrishnan

The CPI(M) has 10 members in the State Assembly and ally CPI 8. Mr.
Rangarajan needs 16 more to win the election and the numbers will come

J Jayalalithaa replaced N Chinnadurai with A K Selvaraj, who is the party's organising secretary.
In a statement, J Jayalalithaa announced the expulsion of Mr Chinnadurai for "indulging in anti-party activities and going against its principles bringing disrepute to the ruling AIADMK."
