State-owned petroleum companies on Wednesday Jan 01,2014 hiked the price of non-subsidised cooking gas cylinders by Rs. 220 a piece. A cylinder will now cost Rs. 1,241 in Delhi. The government subsidises nine cylinders a year for each household. Families requiring more cylinders will have to buy them at market rates.
