M S Dhoni becomes the first ODI captain to have participated in four tied matches

India have participated in seven tied games in ODIs - two each vs Zimbabwe and England and one each vs New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka.


The tied game in Auckland in Jan 2014 is the first between India and New Zealand in ODIs

In the history of ODIs, three tied games have produced totals of 300 or more from both the sides -
  • England vs New Zealand at Napier on February 20, 2008
  • India vs England at Bangalore on February 27, 2011 and 
  • New Zealand vs India at Auckland on January 25, 2014

The first one was in the 2011 ICC World Cup against England in Bangalore.

The second was also against England at Lord's on September 11, 2011.

The third occasion was against Sri Lanka in Adelaide in February 2012


The fourth occasion was against NEw Zealand in Auckland in Jan 2014

 Other ODI Captains Records are
  • Richie Richardson (West Indies)
  • Steve Waugh (Australia) and 
  • Shaun Pollock (South Africa) 
were involved in three ties each.
