Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday Dec 23,2013 staked claim to form the government in Delhi with Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister. The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's political affairs committee (PAC), after which Kejriwal met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday Dec 25,2013 accepted the recommendation of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on government formation by Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal will now take oath as Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday December 28 at Ramlila Maidan
Arvind Kejriwal,who is likely to be sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Delhi finalised his cabinet and sent to Lt Governor a list of six ministers -
- Manish Sisodia, a former journalist who won from Patparganj constituency,
- Rakhi Birla, the giant killer who defeated PWD Minister Rajkumar Chouhan
- Somnath Bharti (defeated Women and Child Development Minister Kiran Walia)
- Saurabh Bhardwaj
- Girish Soni and
- Satendra Jain
