BBC African Footballer of the Year shortlist revealed

 
The five candidates for the 2013 BBC African Footballer of the Year award have been revealed on the BBC's Newsday programme. 

The 5 candidates are -
  • Yaya Toure(Ivory Coast)
 
  • Victor Moses(Nigeria) 
 
  • John Mikel Obi(Nigeria)
 
  • Jonathan Pitroipa(Burkina Faso)and
 
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang(Gabon)


The winner will be decided by African football fans, who have until 18:00 GMT on November 25,2013 to vote for their choice

The winner will be announced on Monday December 2,2013 at 17:35 GMT on the BBC's Focus on Africa radio and television programmes

Yaya Toure wins 2013 BBC African Footballer of the Year


Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure was named the BBC's African Footballer of the Year for 2013 on Monday Dec 02,2013



It was the fifth straight year the Manchester City star had made the shortlist but the first time he'd taken the award.

 

Yaya Toure, who has scored 13 goals for club and country this year, was the choice of the BBC's global audience

 


"Thank you to all the fans around the world who continue to support me and who love me a lot," said Yaya Toure
