Petrol price was on Monday Sep 30,2013 reduced by Rs 3.05 per litre, the first reduction in rates in over five months and the steepest in over five years
Since June 2013 petrol prices have been raised 7 times, totalling Rs. 10.80 per litre, excluding VAT (Rs. 13.06 after including state tax) as the rupee depreciated sharply against the rupee
The price changes announced by oil companies are excluding local sales tax or VAT and will be effective midnight tonight Monday Sep 30,2013
The decrease in petrol prices has now become feasible because of reduction of motor spirit prices from about USD 117 per barrel to about USD 113 and appreciation of rupee against Dollar from about 66 to a dollar to about 63
The New Rates are -
- Chennai Rs 75.68(Rs79.55)a reduction of Rs 3.87
- Delhi Rs72.40(Rs76.06)a reduction of Rs3.66
- Kolkata Rs79.51(83.62)a reduction of Rs 4.11
- Mumbai Rs79.49(83.63)a reduction of Rs 4.14
