The ratification came from the regular weekly meeting of the cabinet held at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair

India has already ratified the agreement

The ratification of the treaty paves the way for Bangladesh to transfer Indian separatist leader, Anup Chetia(leader of the United Liberation Front of Assam(ULFA),the largest separatist movement in the state of Assam)to India who is in jail in Bangladesh after being arrested in 1997 for illegal stay, possessing unauthorized currencies and an unlicensed satellite telephone.
