Chelsea Vs Manchester City @ Stamford Bridge

Chelsea beats Manchester Ciity 2-1
Goal Scorers
For Chelsea -Andre Schurrle(33)and Fernando Torres(90th minute)

For Manchester City -Sergio Agureo(49th minute)

One of the most eagerly-awaited games of the season so far, pitting together squads lavishly assembled by Roman Abramovich and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour and two former managers of Real Madrid

Fernando Torres's late goal had manager Jose Mourinho celebrating with fans in the stands and left City manager Manuel Pellegrini stony-faced and in no mood to shake Jose Mourinho's hand after the final whistle

For Chelsea, it was joy unconfined as they moved up to second in the table and the name of Torres rang around Stamford Bridge at the final whistle as the £50m striker delivered yet more hints that his career may be ready to undergo a renaissance under Jose Mourinho

Fernando Torres  shot wildly over the bar with only Joe Hart to beat, but his play had been excellent and he  took the lead after 33 minutes - racing past Gael Clichy with ease before setting up Schurrle's simple finish.

Andre Schuerrle(Germany) signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the close season, notched his first Chelsea goal when he turned in a Torres cross from close range on 33 minutes after the Spaniard had burst past Gael Clichy and pulled the ball back from close to the byline.

The City goalkeeper Joe Hart out to reach a Willian through ball – a dreadful misjudgement which allowed Fernando Torres in to net a crucial winner and extend Chelsea’s 100 % start to the Premier League season at home

This was Joe Hart's 9th mistake leading to a goal in 2013. He has made errors against Southampton, West Ham, Scotland, Cardiff, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich (twice)and Chelsea

Fernando Torres is nicknamed El Nino in Spain, which means The Kid,but it is also the name of the feared weather system in the Pacific Ocean

Fernando Torres now has more Premier League assists (12) for Chelsea than he managed for Liverpool (2007-2011)
Manchester City have lost a Premier League game in which Sergio Aguero has scored for the first time (W29 D2 L1)
