On January 2,2013 Sri Srinivasan's nomination was returned to the President, due to the sine die adjournment of the Senate.
On January 3, 2013, Barack Obama re-nominated him for the same officeIt was in May 2013 that Sri Srinivasan was confirmed by the U.S. Senate by a huge 97-0 vote
