Australia will tour India to play 7 ODIs and a T20 International in October and November 2013
The series will begin with the T20 in Rajkot on October 10 followed by the ODIs, which will all be day-night matches, the last of them to be played in Bangalore on November 2,2013

Dinesh Karthik’s omission is debatable. The wicketkeeper-batsman did have his moments in the Champions Trophy where he made an unbeaten 51 against the West Indies at the Oval. Then, Karthik came up with an innings of 69, in a crisis situation for India in the away series against Zimbabwe

With India having 123 points and Australia 115, India need to win just two matches to hold on to their No. 1 status while Australia has to beat India in six matches of the seven-game ODI series to become the numero uno
