Manchester United officially joined Twitter on Wednesday July 10,2013 and have already got 140,000 followers and counting.
Manchester United made the announcement with the words -

 "New era, same spirit. The season starts here. Let's do this. #mufc".

So far, @ManUtd is only following the club's players, including Michael Carrick, Robin van Persie, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney
