Six players withdrew from Wimbledon Championship 2013 with injuries - Wednesday June 26,2013

Women’s s singles No. 2 seed Victoria Azarenka(Belarus); Steve Darcis(Belgium) who defeated Rafael Nadal(Spain)in the 1st Round are among the five players who withdrew  from Wimbledon with injuries on Wednesday June 26,2013

Victoria Azarenka(Belarus) had fallen awkwardly in the second set of her first round match on Monday june 24,2013 against Maria Joao Koehler(Portugal) Despite being in pain,Victoria Azarenka hobbled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory. However, she could not step onto the court on Wednesday June 26,2013 to face Italy’s Flavia Pennetta.




Steve Darcis(Belgium)did not even make it onto the court to play his second round men’s singles match against Poland’s Lukasz Kubot because of a shoulder injury.


Marin Cilic(Croatia)Men’s singles No. 10 was also forced to withdraw with an injury to his left knee. The Croatian had been due to play Kenny de Schepper in the second round, having beaten Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the first.


John Isner(USA)lasted only two games before his knee buckled against Adrian Mannarino


Jo-Wilfried Tsonga(France)Sixth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France stopped playing while trailing Ernests Gulbis of Latvia two sets to one 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 after having his left leg treated by a trainer


Radek Stepanek(Czech Republic)quit with a hamstring injury while trailing  Jerzy Janowicz(Poland) 6-2
