According to initial estimates with the State Election Commission (SEC),
nearly 63 % of the 1.1 crore electorate across 12,000 villages
exercised their franchise in the zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections held on Sunday May 19,2013
Polling was conducted in a single phase for 331 members of 22 zilla parishads and 2,902 members of 146 panchayat samitis.
Counting is scheduled for Tuesday May 21,2013
The administration had deployed around 38,000 security personnel in
19,350 booths, including in 2,650, which were declared sensitive.

Out of 2731 Panchayat Samiti seats, the results of 2729 had been
declared with the SAD-BJP romping home with 2122, Congress 454 and
others 153
30 candidates to Zila Parishads and 229 to Panchayat Samitis were elected unopposed earlier
