FIDE Approves Chennai as Venue for ''World Chess Championship''-Sunday May 05,2013

The Presidential Board of FIDE, the world chess body, has approved the staging of the ''World Chess Championship'' in India.

Reigning champion India’s Viswanathan Anand will play challenger Norway’s Magnus Carlsen from November 6 -26,2013 in Chennai. 

An agreement to this effect was signed by FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Secretary of the All India Chess Federation Bharat Singh Chauhan in Baku (Azerbaijan) on Sunday May 05,2013
