Amway India Chairman, 2 Directors arrested -Monday May 27,2013

The Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (Economic Offences Wing), on Monday May 27,2013 arrested Amway India Enterprises Chief Executive Officer and Chairman William Scott Pinckney and two directors of the network marketing company on charges of financial irregularities and cheating.

A team of officials, led by Superintendent of Police P. A. Valsan arrested Mr. Pinckney, a U.S. citizen, and Amway India directors Sanjay Malhotra and Anshu Budhraja in connection with three multi-layered fraud cases registered in Wayanad district. They were booked under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act

They were arrested based on complaints filed by Jaffer and Ashraf from Rippon and Hariharan from Vaduvanchal, Ambalavayal in 2011 (They were summoned for questioning in connection with the cases and later arrested)
