IPL 6 Opening Ceremony -Tuesday April 2,2013


The sixth edition of the IPL 6 began with a glamorous opening ceremony at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday April 2,2013


Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone enthralled the live audience of 1,20,000.

Deepika Padukone flaunted off her toned physique in a shimmery black halter and leather pants with knee-length boots.Shaking a leg to hits like 'Sajday Mein' and 'Angrezi beat', Deepika enlivened the atmosphere by stepping up to a medley of 'Yo Yo Honey Singh' and 'Tumhi Ho' from the hit movie Cocktail



Katrina Kaif arrived grandly onto the ground, seated on an elevated moving platform.Katrina showcased fluidity through her movements to 'Tera Hone Laga Hoon'.The audience went berserk as she stepped up to hits like 'Sheila ki Jawani', 'Touch Me' with a dash of 'Burn it Up' and 'Masha Allah' in a red harem and black blouse with pink trimming. She concluded her performance with Laavni steps and music syncd to 'Chikni Chameli'



Shahrukh Khan made a grand entry to a 'Don' track with an American chopper for company promising a 'great time' and a 'party' as laser beams cut through the arena lit in fluorescent and blue. Shahrukh Khan kept the spectators thrilled with a dance performance to his peppy hits



Indian singer Usha Uthup and Bollywood Music Director Bappi Lahiri kept the audiences enthralled with disco tracks "Koi Yahan Nache Nache", "Hari Om Hari" and "Rambha Ho"


American Rapper Pitbull also joined the Indian stars on stage with his popular numbers.


There were also performances from cheerleaders, gymnasts, flying drummers, stilt-walkers, rhythm acrobats, air-tumblers and mass dancers

An air balloon with the IPL logo was lifted atop the stage, with huge placards showing the logos of all nine teams attached to it.
