2012-13 UEFA CL Semi-finals Leg 1 - FC Bayern München Vs FC Barcelona -Tuessday April 232013



 Two teams with eyes on a fifth European crown, FC Bayern München and FC Barcelona, meet in the semi-final contest at the Allianze Arena,Munich, Germany at 20.45(local time)

Arjen Robben's cross was headed by Thomas Muller to score the first goal for Bayern in the 25th minute


 

Mario Gomez looked marginally offside when he turned in Thomas Mueller's header from close range to score Bayern's second goal in the 49th minute


 

Thomas Muller scored the 3rd goal for Bayern in the 82nd minute by bundling David Alaba's  cross into the net after some swift interplay

Bayern's Arjen Robben did a stepover to beat FCB's Jordi Alba who was then barged off the ball by Bayern's Thomas Muller to allow Arjen Robben a free shot at goal and he nestled it in the far corner to score the fourth goal for Bayern

 

Thomas Mueller also appeared to obstruct FCB's Jordi Alba when the full-back attempted to stop Bayern's Arjen Robben  as the Dutch international winger ran through to score Bayern's third goal in the 73rd minute

It was Barcelona's biggest loss in the Champions League since 1997, and a humbling defeat for the team that has been widely regarded as the best in the world for the last few years. The loss equaled Barcelona's biggest in the Champions League, a 4-0 defeat to Dynamo Kiev in the Group Stage in 1997
