Luna 9 (Soviet Union) - 1st Spacecraft to land on the moon on Feb 03,1966

Luna 9 spacecraft was the first spacecraft to achieve a soft landing on the moon on February 3, 1966 and hence any planetary body other than Earth, and to transmit photographic data to Earth.
