Whitney Elizabeth Houston  was an American recording artist, actress, producer, and model.She had the he perfect voice, and the perfect image: a gorgeous singer who had sex appeal but was never overtly sexual, who maintained perfect poise.She was considered by many to be a "singer's singer"

In 2009, the Guinness World Records cited her as the most-awarded female act of all time.

Personal Life

married to singer Bobby Brown in 1992.It seemed to be an odd union; she was seen as pop's pure princess while he had a bad-boy image, and already had children of his own. The couple had a daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in 1993.They divorced in 2007







Death

She confessed to abusing cocaine, marijuana and pills, and her once pristine voice became raspy and hoarse, unable to hit the high notes as she had during her prime.
Whitney Houston,  pop music’s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, died Saturday Feb 11,2012 at the age of 48.Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3-55 p.m. in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.Whitney Houston's death came on the eve of music's biggest night — the 54thGrammy Awards






Whitney Houston's body has been flown from California to her home state of New Jersey, ahead of a funeral expected later this week.The 48-year-old singer was found underwater and unconscious on Saturday in a bath at a hotel in Beverly Hills.

Whitney Houston was laid to rest Sunday Feb 19,2012 at a brief private ceremony.
Fans and onlookers gathered in several places along the route the motorcade took from the Newark funeral home to the cemetery about 20 miles away in Westfield, where Houston was buried next to her father, who died in 2003                                     
                                                                    










Whitney Houston’s final song has been released - May 21,2012

 

Whitney Houston’s final song, “Celebrate,” was released on Monday May 21,2012 which is a collaboration with Jordin Sparks for the film ‘Sparkle'.Celebrate is the last song ever recorded by the music legend, which is written by R&B crooner R Kelly.

 

Sparkle, a remake of the 1976 film of the same name, stars Houston as the mother of three girls who form a singing group and then face struggle with fame and drug addiction.‘Sparkle’ is going to be released on August 17,2012.
