Volvo Car Corporation

Volvo Car Corporation, is a Swedish Automobile Manufacturer founded in 1927in Gothenburg,Sweden.
Volvo was originally formed as a subsidiary company to the Ball-Bearing Maker SKF.. When Volvo AB was introduced on the Swedish stock exchange in 1935, SKF sold most of the shares in the company.
Volvo Cars was owned by AB Volvo( a Swedish builder of Commercial Vehicles including Trucks,Buses and Construction Equipment)

In 1999 Volvo sold its car division Volvo Cars to Ford Motor Company which was acquired by the Ford Motor Company as part of its Premier Automotive Group.The Volvo trademark was shared between Volvo AB, where it is used on heavy vehicles, and the unit of Ford, where it was used on cars.




Geely Holding Group(one the 10 largest China-based automakers) then acquired Volvo from Ford in 2010and is presently owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
