The Tokyo Sky Tree (東京スカイツリー Tōkyō Sukai Tsurī?), formerly known as New Tokyo Tower (新東京タワー Shin Tōkyō Tawā?), is a broadcasting, restaurant and observation tower  under construction in Sumida,Tokyo,Japan has been the tallest artificial structure in Japan height of 634.0 metres (2,080 ft).Construction of the tower is scheduled to be completed by February 2012, with the public opening on 22 May 2012.
The Tokyo Sky Tree is currently the tallest tower in the world. It is taller than Canton Tower (600 m (1,969 ft)); the tallest structure on an island , taller than Taipei 101; and the second tallest structure in the world, after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
