Laura Dekker's(DOB Sep 20,1995) Globe-Circling Voyage






Laura Dekker (born 20 September 1995)a Dutch Sailar began her record breaking attempt to circumnavigate the globe single - handed on Aug 21,2010 from Gibraltor(a British Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean)  and completed the solo circumnavigation in an 11.5-metre (38 ft) two-masted Ketch(also named Guppy) on Jan 21,2012 arriving in Simpson Bay( a large lagoon in the west of the Caribbean Island of Saint Martin),Sint Maarten(a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and it encompasses the southern half of the Caribbean Island of Saint Martin, while the northern half of the island constitutes the French Overseas Collectivity of Saint-Marin.Its capital is Philipsburg)


Dekker was born on a boat in the port of Whangarei,New Zealand during a seven-year trip by her parents. Her father, Dick Dekker, is Dutch and her mother, Babs Müller,is German; thus, Dekker has Dutch, German, and New Zealand citizenship.
