Protest Against austerity Cuts in Italy

Students and the unemployed take part in a protest against austerity cuts on November 17, 2011 in Naples, Italy. Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Naples, and across Italy, to protest against the lack of opportunity for future employment and impending austerity cuts by Italy's new Prime Minister Mario Monti and his new cabinet.

Students parade through the streets in downtown Rome November 17, 2011. Thousands of Italians demonstrated in several cities on Thursday to protest against what they called a "bankers' government " led by economist Mario Monti. 
 

In the main financial centre, Milan, riot police used batons to stop protesters trying to reach Bocconi University, where new Prime Minister Mario Monti is president.
