September 11,2001 attacks - the tenth anniversary 11.09.2011

September 11,2001 attacks (called  9/11attacks)were a series of 4 coordinated suicide attacks against targets in New York and Washington, D.C.by 19 al-Qaeda terrorists who hijacked 4 passenger jets en route to San Francisco and Los Angeles after takeoff from Boston, Newark, and Washington, D.C.
The hijackers intentionally crashed 2 planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours.
The Hijackers crashed a 3rd plane into the Pentagon(headquarters of the US Defense Department) in Virginia.
When passengers attempted to take control of the fourth plane,United Airlines Flight 93, it crashed into a field near Shanksville,Pennylvania, preventing it from reaching its intended target in Washington, D.C.

 Attacks on WTC and Pentagon
At 8:46 a.m., 5 hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 11  into the World Trade Center's North Tower.The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. after burning for 102 minutes.













At 9:03 a.m. 5 hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the South Tower.The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. after burning for 56 minutes in a fire caused by the impact of United Airlines Flight 175.

At 9:37 a.m  5 hijackers flew American Airlines Flight 11 into the Pentagon
