Sparkling half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, followed by a whirlwind 80 from KL Rahul helped India set a challenging 340-run target

India lost wickets in two braces, which reduced them to 198 for 3 and 280 for 5, but Rahul played a part in pulling India out of strife on both occasions

This was a memorable match for Kuldeep Yadav as he was able to become the fastest Indian spinner to reach 100 ODI wickets, taking 58 ODIs to achieve this feat. He broke the record previously held by Harbhajan Singh, who took 76 ODIs to reach the landmark back in 2003.

Kuldeep Yadav is the third fastest Indian bowler overall to achieve this feat behind Jasprit Bumrah (57) and Mohammad Shami (56). Afghanistan's Rashid Khan is the fastest bowler to reach 100 ODI wickets taking 44 ODIs, while Mitchell Starc took 52 games to reach the landmark.

For India Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav rocked Australia in the middle overs with two big wickets each. Jadeja kept India in the contest with tight overs and wickets of Aaron Finch and Marnus Labuschagne, and Yadav ended the chase with the strikes of Steven Smith and Alex Carey in the same over.
