Cricketers Who Have Scored Century on Test Debut as well on the last Test Match

1)Reginald Duff, who played for Australia, scored an impressive century on debut at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against England in the year 1902. He scored an impressive 104 in the second innings of the said Test.
In an international career of 22 Tests, in 40 innings Duff scored 1317 runs at an average of 35.59 with two centuries.
His second century came in his last Test at Kennington Oval in the year 1905. He thus became the first cricketer to achieve this feat.



2)Bill Ponsford played 29 Tests for Australia from 1924 to 1934. In a decade, Ponsford 2122 Test runs at an impressive average of 48.22 with 7 centuries and 6 half centuries.
Out of the 7 centuries, Ponsford scored a century on debut and in his last Test. His century on debut was against England in 1924 when he scored 110 against England at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
His last Test too was against England and he scored a mammoth 266 before being out hit wicket.

3)Greg Chappell was one of the finest cricketers to have played the game of cricket for Australia. He created a legacy for himself and was a role model for many young cricketers to inspire them to take up the game of cricket.
Greg scored 7110 Test runs in 151 Test innings at an average of 53.86 with 24 centuries and 31 half centuries. He scored an impressive 108 on debut against England at the WACA stadium in Perth in 1970-1971. It was a high scoring game and ended in a draw, But a new legend was born in Australian cricket who dominated bowling attacks for more than a decade.
His last Test was against Pakistan in the year 1984 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and he signed off in the same way as he started in Test cricket. Riding on his brilliant 182, Australia thrashed Pakistan by 10 wickets

4)Mohammad Azharuddin was one of the cricketers who was pleasing to watch when he was in full flow. He started his international career for India with a bang by scoring three centuries in his first three Tests in the year 1984.
England was on the receiving end once again, A young Azhar scored a brilliant century in the first innings of the 1984 Test at Eden Gardens. The match ended in a draw but Azhar did not stop there. He scored 22 hundreds in 147 Test innings.
His last Test was against South Africa in the year 2000. Though India lost the Test by a huge margin of an innings and 71 runs, Azhar played a delightful innings of 102 in India's second innings

5)Alastair Cook has been an exceptional cricketer for England ever since he made his debut in the year 2006 against India at Nagpur. He scored a patient 104 in England's second innings and the match ended in a draw.
Cook currently is playing his last Test against India at the Oval and has scored another century against them. Thus Cook is the fifth cricketer to achieve this feat.
Cook has achieved great heights for English cricket and will sign off with most runs and centuries for England in Test cricket.
