England's Joe Root completes 7000+ Runs in Test Cricket Thursday Sep 12,2019


Day One Thursday Sep 12,2019 5th Test @ The Oval against Australia in the 2019 Ashes Series

 

Joe Root became the 12th Englishman to reach 7,000 Test runs and is the third youngest player to reach the landmark.


Only Alastair Cook and Sachin Tendulkar were younger.

Only three England players have scored 7,000 runs in fewer innings than Joe Root's 158 (Wally Hammond - 131, Kevin Pietersen - 150, Alastair Cook - 151)

In the ongoing 2019 Ashes series, Joe Root bagged three ducks including two golden ducks. In this process, he became the first England skipper with three ducks in a Test series.
