Delhi Capitals crushed Rajasthan Royals’ play-off hopes with a convincing five-wicket victory to finish off the league campaign in the ongoing IPL on a high note
Already through to the play-offs, Delhi Capitals first rode on veterans Ishant Sharma 3/38 and Amit Mishra’s 3/17 superb efforts with the bowl to restrict Rajasthan Royals to 115 for nine and then chased down the target in 16.1 overs, with Rishabh Pant remaining unbeaten on a 38-ball 53.
The win lifted Delhi to the second spot in the standings with 18 points from 14 games but to finish as second best side, the Capitals would need Mumbai Indians to lose against KKR on Sunday May 05

Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant now holds the record of most number of dismissals by a custodian in one IPL season. So far, Pant has effected 23 dismissals in the tournament — 17 catches and 6 stumpings. He overtakes Kumar Sangakkara and Dinesh Karthik in this illustrious list.
Riyan Parag became the youngster half-centurion in the history of the IPL. At 17 years and 175 days, Parag became the youngest player to score cross the 50-run mark. Earlier, Sanju Samson and Prithvi Shaw were tied at the top spot.
115/9 is now the lowest score for Rajasthan Royals against Delhi Capitals. The previous worse was 121 all-out, which came in 2010 edition of the league.
This is the third largest win for Delhi Capitals over Rajasthan Royals, in terms of balls remaining. DC won the match with 23 balls to spare.
