2019 Indian Parliamentary Election in 7 Phases from April 11 to May 19,2019 - As Counting of Votes is progressing ,early indicators show that NDA Set For Second Term under the leadership of Narendra Modi Thursday May 23,2019


Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA is heading for a second term, possibly with an even bigger majority than 2014 



The BJP is heading for a sweep in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi. The party has also made inroads in West Bengal, Odisha and Telangana. It is comfortably placed in key states such as Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra despite a strong challenge from the Opposition.

With the elections establishing the 68-year-old Modi as the most popular leader in decades, the partial vote count released by the Election Commission showed that BJP was expected to surpass its 2014 performance. It was leading in 296 of the 542 Lok Sabha seats that went to polls in seven phases, demolishing the combined opposition

The Congress has failed to carry forward the momentum from its recent election victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. It is, however, faring better in Punjab and Kerala.

Markets cheered the trends, as the benchmark BSE Sensex touched 40,000 for the first time and NSE Nifty breached the 12,000 level. The rupee appreciated 14 paise to 69.51 against the US dollar trade
