Rahul Gandhi to contest from Wayanad,Kerala on his second LS seat after Amethi in Uttar Pradesh Sunday March 31,2019


Congress President Rahul Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad in Kerala apart from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh; CPM leader Prakash Karat says Rahul's decision shows congress is targeting Left...BJP says Rahul Gandhi is contesting from a second seat out of the fear of losing.

The decision was announced by Congress leader AK Antony in a press conference on Sunday  March 31,2019

Reacting to the announcement, BJP President Amit Shah said that Rahul Gandhi indulges in politics of appeasement and is running scared.

Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and senior BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya said Rahul Gandhi's decision has proved the BJP right. Rahul Gandhi is contesting from a second seat out of the fear of losing. He added that they are confident that BJP will win the Amethi seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's announcement of contesting elections from Waynad, Kerala alongside Amethi, senior JD(U) leader K.C. Tyagi today said that Rahul Gandhi is running away from the battlefield.

The Left leaders have criticised Congress president Rahul Gandhi's decision to constest LS elections from Waynad, Kerala. Senior leader of the CPI(M), Prakash Karat called it a fight against the left instead of  Congress' national commitment to fight BJP. Gandhi earlier today announced that he will contest elections from two seats including his current constituency Amethi.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan brushed aside the announcement as an insignificant one adding that Rahul Gandhi is fighting against the Left instead of BJP.
