The Narendra Modi led NDA Government on Friday Dec 07,2018 appointed Krishnamurthy Subramanian as the chief Economic Adviser (CEA). He is a professor at International School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
The post of CEA had been vacant since Arvind Subramanaian left the finance ministry after a four-year stint on June 20 ,2018
Krishnamurthy Subramanian will be the Chief Economic Adviser for a period of three years. A government notification said, "The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved for the appointment of Dr Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Associate Prof. and ED (CAF), ISB, Hyderabad, to the post of Chief Economic Adviser."
Subramanian holds a PhD degree from Chicago Booth. He is an IIT-IIM alumnus and regarded as one of the leading experts on banking, corporate governance and economic policy in the world.
