2016 Uzbekistani Presidential Election Sunday Dec 04,2016

The 2016 Uzbekistani Presidential Election is scheduled to be held on Sunday Dec 04,2016 following the official announcement of the death of incumbent President Islam Karimov on Sep 02,2016

The Usbekistan Constitution mandated that the election be held within three months of President's death

Uzbekistan has never had free and fair elections, and it is common for the incumbent to receive more than 90% of the vote.

The following 4 candidates were nominated for candidacy by their respective parties in September. The CEC approved their applications in October 2016

• Sarvar Otamuradov,Uzbekistan National Revival Democratic Party  nominee
• Narimon Urmanov,Justice Social Democratic Party nominee
• Khatamjan Ketmanov,People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan  nominee
