Hundreds of people bared all and plunged into the chilly waters of the North Sea for a mass skinny dip.

 Bathers wearing nothing by swimming caps and headdresses took to the sea despite the temperature of the chilly waters 

Almost 500 stripped down to their birthday suits for the North East Skinny Dip, off the coast Druridge Bay, in Northumberland, to raise money for mental health charity MIND.

 The annual event, which is now in it's fifth year, takes place at sunrise on the Sunday after the autumn equinox

Swathes of skinnydippers stripped down for the event on the Northumberland coast despite wet and windy conditions
