Bihar's Sharad Sagar Only Indian To Be Invited For A Special White House Event

In a proud moment for India, an entrepreneur from Bihar, Sharad Sagar(24)has been invited by US President Barack Obama to the White House to attend a special gathering of world leaders.

On October 03, 2016, President Obama’s White House will host “South by South Lawn: A White House Festival of Ideas, Art and Action”, the inaugural gathering of leaders to celebrate the 'spirit of innovation'.

According to the official White House statement, "the event will bring together creators, innovators, and organizers who work day in and day out to improve the lives of people around the world. It is a celebration of the great work these people have already accomplished."

Sharad is the founder and CEO of Dexterity Global - an ecosystem of educational platforms that aims at connecting every child with the best education opportunities - and the only one from Bihar to be listed in the prestigious Forbes 30 under 30 List. He is one of the very few innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers and the only Indian to have received this invitation to this special event to be hosted by President Obama at the White House.

"I want to let everyone know that it's not me who has been invited, it's us and our shared vision of creating a better future for our children. I am honoured and thank President Obama and the White House for seeing great value in our work. But I always say, awards bestowed on Dexterity don't matter to us, our real awards are our dexters. I am proud of the wonderful things students from Dexterity network are doing today around the world," Sagar told

Sharad founded Dexterity Global in 2008 at the age of 16, the same year when President Obama assumed office. 'He has had great influence on me as a leader. It’s a great honor for me to be invited for this special gathering at the White House and meet the world’s most powerful leader personally. Through his inspirational leadership, President Obama has impacted an entire generation and I thank President Obama and the White House for seeing great value in the work that we’re doing at Dexterity. Thank you!," said Sagar to News18.

On being asked what he intends to talk about at the special gathering he said, "President Obama talks about hope, optimism and change. And at the White House, I want to share with him the hope that I have in the generation that we are building collectively, the change that's taking place in some of the world's most challenging demographics, and the optimism that I carry each day seeing leaders of tomorrow today. I want to share with him inspirational stories of young students who would go on to change the world."
