Renaming its second-generation smartwatch as Series 2, Apple launched an upgraded version of its Apple Watch
The Apple Watch Series 2 is now water resistant and comes with built-in GPS feature. The new smartwatch comes powered by the new watchOS 3 and the new S2 dual core processor that is touted to make the device be 50 per cent faster.
The watch further comes with a 2nd-gen display at 1000nits, making it the brightest display on an Apple Watch ever. One of the most unexpected addition to the Apple Watch is the support for Pokemon Go, along with a special Breathe app and an SOS feature for emergency situations.
With water resistance up to 50 meters, the Apple Watch Series 2 can be worn while swimming, surfing, or during any such water activity. Apple has developed special algorithms for swimmers to count laps, track average lap pace and auto-detect stroke type to accurately measure active calorie burn.
It further comes with new watch faces including Minnie Mouse, Activity and Numerals.
The new Apple Watch Series 2 will also come in a ceramic finish which is touted to be stronger than stainless steel. Additionally, Apple is offering a Hermes model with dual, single tone bands by the luxury brand.
Apple Watch Series 2 will be available in two different case sizes of 38mm and 42mm and come in gold, rose gold, silver or space grey aluminium, or silver or space black stainless steel cases paired with a wide variety of bands starting at Rs 32,900 in India, starting October 07,2016
