AAP appoints actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as its Punjab convenor Sunday Sep 04,2016

AAP on Sunday Sep 04,2016 appointed political satirist and actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as the party’s Punjab convenor in place of Sucha Singh Chhotepur.

Sucha Singh Chhotepur was removed from the post after a video clip surfaced showing him allegedly taking bribes in exchange for poll tickets.

The party's political affairs committee cleared Ghuggi’s name for the post, a party release said, adding that he will take charge soon. 

Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi(45) had joined AAP in February 2016

After comedian-turned-parliamentarian Bhagwant Mann, who is the party’s campaign committee chairman for the 2017 Punjab Assembly polls, Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi will be the second satirist to bag a top post in the party.
