Bayern Munich Signs Josep Guardiola as New Coach - Wednesday Jan 16,2013


Josep Guardiola has signed a 3-year contract from July 1,2013 onwards as he replaces Jupp Heynckes, whose two-year contract expires after the season and who will retire from coaching, Munich said on Wednesday Jan 16,2013


Pep Guardiola(DOB Jan 18,1971) who led Barcelona to 14 titles over four seasons and turned the Spanish club into arguably the best team in the world, has agreed to become the coach of Bayern Munich starting next season. Bayern announced the deal Wednesday, after a meeting of the top management.

Josep Guardiola coached Barcelona to 14 titles – including two Champions Leagues and World Club Cups each, and three Liga titles – during his four-year tenure at the Nou Camp between 2008 and 2012.
Josep Guardiola became coach of FC Barcelona in May  2008 succeeding Frank Rijkaard as the first team manager and in June 2012 Josep Guardiola quit as FC Barcelona Manager succeeded by his second-in-charge Tito Vilanova.
