14,833 Indians Play Traditional Drums for 15 Minutes in an Attempt to Set Record - Sunday Jan 06,2013


Khol artists take part to create a Guinness World Record during an event at Titabor in Assam.A total of 14,833 people participated in the event to create an Indian record - and they were also hoping it was enough to set a Guinness World Record.






 Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi plays the Khol. The traditional Khol (a traditional percussion instrument of Assam), introduced by Vaishnava saint Sankardeva, on Jan 6,2013 Sunday made it to the India Book of Records with 15,000 people playing it in unison for 15 minutes here for the first time in the state









Current record was set in Hong Kong in July 2002 when 10,102 people played a percussive rhythm for six minutes
