2012–13 Premier League


The 2012–13 Premier League (known as the Barclays Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the 21st season, since its establishment in 1992.

The 21st Season began on Aug 18, 2012 and will end on May 19, 2013.A total of 20 teams will contest the league, including 17 sides from the 2011–12 season and three promoted from the Football League Championship.The 20 Teams that are participating are -

Teams Promoted from the 2011-12 Football League Championship
Reading (as Champions) and Southampton (as runners-up) secured direct promotion to the Premier League from the 2011-12 Football League Championship.Third-placed West Ham United defeated fifth-placed Blackpool in the Play-off final at Wembley Stadium on May 19, 2012.

2011-12 Premier League

Manchester City won the English Premier League title for the first time in 44 years, beating Queens Park Rangers 3-2. It was the first time since 1989 that the title was decided in the last match.
